Chocolate, the “food of the gods,” has a long, interesting history. Today, it is a multi-billion dollar industry.
One morning in spring before sunrise, in the small town of Lansquenet-sous-Tannes, Renaud the uptight minister, and staunch keeper of the rule of God, is found in the most unusual position. He is sprawled in the middle of the chocolate display of the La Celeste Praline Chocolaterie Artisanale. With his face against the glass shop front and smothered in chocolate, to the town’s mystified onlookers, it looks like he has been swimming in it.
